Welcome to Timmy Playzwell
We recently announced on our website that Timmy Playzwell was taking the summer off.
Unfortunately, we may have to extend this time off well into the fall and possibly even the New Year. I have struggled with whether or not to let the real reason for the 'break' be known publicly, but I feel we owe it to the people who have been coming to see us these last few years to explain Timmy Playzwell's absence from the scene. Just writing these words seems very surreal, but the bottom line is that I have been diagnosed with cancer.
Let me state emphatically that my cancer was found in time, is treatable, and, in the end, curable. The cure though, as well as the recovery, will take some time. During that time it will not be possible for me to play. Know that in my heart I will dearly miss that which I love doing most with my band mates, whom I've been blessed to take the stage with all these years, as well as the friends and fans that come to see Timmy Playzwell rain or shine.
In our absence, I hope you keep on supporting the live music scene when you can. The energy of music is such a tangible thing; it draws us together, fills our senses, lifts our spirits, and calms our souls. It brings so much joy to our lives and reconnects us all to that part of us that is forever young. Timmy Playzwell will be back soon, but in the meanwhile, be happy, be healthy, and as always keep on rockin'!
Nous avons récemment annoncé sur notre site web que Timmy Playzwell allait prendre un peu de repos et ne présenterait aucun spectacle cet été.
Malheureusement, nous allons possiblement devoir prolonger ce repos jusqu'à tard cet automne et même peut-être jusqu'à la nouvelle année. J'ai lutté avec la décision de dévoiler publiquement la vraie raison pour ce "repos", et finalement je sens que nous devons une explication plus précise concernant notre absence de la scène à tous les gens qui sont venus nous voir jouer ces dernières années. Simplement le fait d'écrire ces mots suivants est surréaliste, mais la réalité est que j'ai été diagnostiqué d'un cancer.
Je veux déclarer avec emphase que ce cancer a été trouvé à temps, est traitable, et enfin, guérissable. La guérison, ainsi que mon rétablissement, vont prendre quelque temps par contre. Durant cette période, il me sera impossible de jouer. Sachez que dans mon coeur je vais intensément manquer ce qui me donne le plus de plaisir à faire avec mes musiciens-camarades, avec lesquels j'ai été choyé de jouer ces dernières années, ainsi que les amis et fans de Timmy Playzwell qui viennent nous voir peu importe la pluie ou le beau temps.
Durant notre absence, j'espère que vous continuerez de supporter la scène "live" musicale quand vous le pourrez. L'énergie que la musique émet est une chose tellement tangible; cette énergie nous rassemble, envahit nos sens, remonte nos morals, et calme nos âmes. Elle apporte tellement de joie dans nos vies et nous reconnecte avec cette partie de nous-même qui demeure jeune à jamais. Timmy Playzwell va être de retour bientôt, mais pendant ce temps, soyez heureux, soyez en santé, et continuez toujours de "rocker"!
